CHILD CAR SEAT PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE WESTFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT:
The Westford Police Department has two certified car seat technicians available by appointment to inspect and/or install your child safety seat.  Anyone wanting a car seat inspected or to have it properly installed can call the Westford Police Department at 978-692-2161 or contact Officer Michael Croteau or Officer Scott Hyder. Bicycle helmets are also available for families that need them. Select the following link for additional information on the child safety seat grant program through the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.

FINGER PRINTS:
The Westford Police Department fingerprints residents for security clearance and employment purposes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm, and on Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm. Residents must provide their own fingerprint card and proof of ID. There is no charge for this service. It is recommended that you call the department prior to coming in to ensure that someone is available. NOTE: Local Law Enforcement Agencies are not authorized to fingerprint for citizenship and/or immigration purposes.

The primary purpose of the Westford Police Department is to provide a high level of safety, security and service for all members of the community. As a regulatory agency of local government, the police department has the direct responsibility for the preservation of the public peace, for the reduction of the opportunity to commit crime, and for the effective delivery of a wide variety of police services. A large suburban society free from crime and disorder remains an unachieved ideal. Nevertheless, consistent with the values of a free society, it is the primary objective of the Westford Police Department to as closely as possible approach that ideal.
